HERITAGE
A Storied Past
Originally licensed as the Milltown Distillery, Strathisla was founded in 1786 by two local enterprising gentlemen, on land that was previously used by monks in the 11th century.
Over the years, it changed many hands and suffered through many reversals in fortune, before eventually finding its footing as the spiritual home of Chivas, and being renamed to ‘Strathisla’ after the river which it sits beside.
